Bel Air Dance Academy presents “Sophia and the Search for Christmas Spirit”
Sophia has had it with the holiday season: the stress, the chaos, her sisters always fighting over presents. Even her mother is too busy with holiday preparations to spend with her.
Outside, amidst all the chaos and hustle and bustle, Sophia notices an old woman in need of help. The old woman transforms into the beautiful Queen of Spirit, thanks her for her kindness, and offers to help Sophia; whisking her away to the Realm of Spirit.
In the Realm of Spirit, the Queen sends Sophia on a journey to find her missing Christmas Spirit. Along the way, she meets Love, Peace, and Joy, who show her visions of the true gifts of Christmas, and why the holiday season is so magical. Each gifts her with a special trinket to help her remember them as she continues her journey.
As Sophia searches the Realm, she is pursued by Malice, Chaos, and Sorrow, who have captured her Christmas Spirit and want nothing more than to see it lost forever. Each one tries to ensnare Sophia so she never feels the love, peace, and joy of the holidays again.
When Sorrow finally seems to have Sophia in its clutches, Sophia is reminded of the trinkets, and the visions, that Love, Peace, and Joy shared with her, filling her up with a power from deep inside. Sophia realizes that only she is the one with the power to keep the evil spirits at bay.
With her Christmas Spirit restored, Sophia can return home to celebrate the season with her family and friends. But before she does, Christmas Spirit gives Sophia a special ornament for her tree, crafted from the trinkets of the spirits who helped her, to remind her and anyone else who touches it, that the spirit of Christmas is always with them, and can be found within their hearts. Always.
