Jacqueline Simmons Hedberg, author of Slaves, Plantations and Freedom on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, tells the story of 6 African Americans, both free and enslaved, that were vital to the economy of the Eastern Shore of Maryland and their stories of courage, cruelty, and hope. Refreshments and book signing to follow.
