Esme Trio in Concert
An afternoon of enchanting songs, duets and piano music will engage their listeners. The concert features the music of Brahms, Bach, Purcell, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Dvořák, Offenbach, Humperdinck and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Esme Trio consists of Mindy Elledge (Mezzo-Soprano), Betsy Saik (Soprano), and Carole Simmons (Pianist/Accompanist).
Mindy Elledge has performed with the Akron Symphony Orchestra Chorus, Blossom Festival Chorus, Boulder Chorale and several small chamber ensembles. She had the opportunity to perform works conducted by Robert Shaw, Sir Colin Davis, Sir Neville Marriner, Leonard Slatkin and Robert Page to name a few. Since moving to Maryland, Mindy’s local performances have included the Bach Choir of Baltimore and the Herb Dimmock singers.
Betsy Saik began as an instrumentalist including piano, violin, early music instruments and, much to her family’s and neighbors’ dismay, the bagpipes. In college she also began to study voice and has since sung with numerous early music ensembles, choral groups, and church choirs. Since moving to Havre de Grace from the Washington, D.C. area, Betsy has enjoyed the many local singing opportunities, including soloist with Harford Choral Society and cantor at St. Patrick’s Church in Havre de Grace and Church of the Good Shepherd in Perryville.
Both Mindy and Betsy are members of the Harford Choral Society, which is where they met. The two decided it was fun to sing duets, thus ESME was born.
Pianist Carole Simmons has played professionally in many states across the U.S. She moved to the area a few years ago, and has continued to perform in ensembles, accompanying soloists, and serve the music ministry at St. Johns Episcopal Church.
