Featuring an introduction to the film and a post-film discussion with film fan Christopher Providence and filmmaker Carlos L. Harris.

The aftermath of a police killing of a black man in New York, told through the eyes of three men: the bystander—a young father—who filmed the act; an African-American police officer forced to confront his own experiences with racism among his ranks; and a high-school baseball phenom torn between his father’s expectations and taking a stand.

Writer-director Reinaldo Marcus Green’s powerful independent debut film stars John David Washington {“BlackkKlansman”}, Anthony Ramos, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Chante Adams, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Nicole Beharie, and Rob Morgan.

“’Monsters and Men’ excels when it dives into the complications of race and authority, articulated vividly by three excellent lead performances.” – Nick Allen,

“Beautifully shot and brilliantly performed…incredibly intense and thoroughly relevant.” – David Nusair, Reel Film Reviews

“You can’t fault Green for his guts in tackling a difficult, emotional and deeply important subject and giving it his all…’Monsters and Men’ is an indication of what’s to come from a talented director.” – Freda Cooper, The People’s Movies
